Celebrating 40 Years of Art & Community
In 2026, Castle Park Arts Centre marks its 40th year — four decades of free exhibitions, community workshops, courtyard concerts and a café that's become the beating heart of Frodsham life.
About the centre
A Creative Heart in Beautiful Cheshire Parkland
Set in the historic grounds of Castle Park in Frodsham, the Arts Centre occupies a beautifully converted Victorian stable block adjacent to the park's mansion house. Five galleries, craft studios, workshop rooms and the Courtyard Café make up one of Cheshire's most distinctive cultural spaces.
We are a registered charity, run largely by dedicated volunteers, with a mission to make art accessible to everyone — regardless of background or budget. All our gallery exhibitions are free to enter.

About the centre
From Victorian Stable Block to Thriving Arts Hub
1986 • The Centre Opens
Castle Park Arts Centre opens in the converted Victorian stable block of Frodsham's Castle Park — a gift to the
community, dedicated to bringing art and culture to the heart of Cheshire.
1990s • The Galleries Take Shape
Five distinct gallery spaces are established, each with its own character and purpose. The rolling 6-week exhibition programme begins, a model that continues to this day.
2000 • The Courtyard Café Opens
The Courtyard Café opens its doors, quickly becoming one of the most beloved spots in Frodsham — and the primary source of income that keeps the galleries free for all.
2010 • Workshop Programme Expands
Artist-led and centre-run workshops grow significantly. The Centre becomes a hub for creative learning — from linocut and printmaking to painting, drawing and ceramics.
2019 • Marshes Benevolent Fund Award
A major grant from the Marshes Community Benefit Fund enables essential building improvements and helps secure the Centre's future for the next generation of visitors and artists.
2026 • 40th Anniversary Year
Castle Park Arts Centre celebrates 40 years of free art, community, creativity and café cake — with a new website, a new chapter, and the same unwavering commitment to Frodsham and its people.

"From our founding in 1986, the aim has always been the same — to bring art to everyone, for free, in a place they feel welcome."
