We are now slowly coming out of lockdown when we were encouraged to stay at home and access to the great outdoors was restricted. As a transplant recipient this period was extended and there has been a lot of time to reflect on both my relationship to the external landscape and to my own internal emotional and mental landscape. Feelings of vulnerability, confinement, frustration and isolation clashed with the guilty appreciation of the calm and quiet that was a by-product of the world trying to combat Covid-19.

I have worked the clay to express some of these mixed emotions and I think this may well be my most personal body of work.
