‘Trio: Three seasons: Three styles’ – Maggie Hilditch

trio: from the Latin ‘tres’, meaning a group of three

Maggie Hilditch is a painter & art trainer, based in Liverpool.

Maggie studied Fine Art at Manchester University and Glasgow School of Art, and Fashion & Textiles at Middlesex University. She worked briefly as a fashion designer before returning to Middlesex University to complete a PGCE in Secondary Art Teaching with Special Needs Education, after which she worked in secondary teaching.

For many years Maggie has facilitated and led creative workshops in various settings, including schools, churches, theatres, health facilities and retreat centres.

Maggie’s other interests include mental health & wellbeing. From 2008-10 she was Artist-in-Residence at Wotton Lawn Hospital (2gether NHS Foundation Trust) in Gloucestershire. In 2009 Maggie was awarded an NHS 'ROSCA' (Recognising Outstanding Service and Contribution Awards) Unsung Hero award by the 2gether Trust, for services to mental health.

trio is a collection of artworks created over the past few years, reflecting three different styles of painting and corresponding life seasons.

Maggie works in acrylics and oils on paper and canvas, layering colour to form texture and depth. This series features abstracts, land & seascapes and flowers.
