Natural Progression Textile Group

Natural Progression was formed over 10 years ago when on completion of City & Guilds in Embroidery and Design a few of us students decided to initiate a textile group.

We are a happy band of between 10 to 12 ladies, who exhibit and sell our contemporary textile art.

We meet up every so often to discuss business, exchange ideas and learn new techniques in all aspects of stitching, sticking, cutting, distorting and generally playing.

We hold in-house play days and invite tutors to run full day workshops to enable us to widen our knowledge.

We have exhibited in many venues in the NW, including Samlesbury Hall, Towneley Hall, Astley Hall, Drumcroon, Mere Sands Nature Reserve, Avant Garden Centre & Shevington Library.

We have covered broad subjects like Freedom and The Universe, as we like to challenge ourselves, research, explore different facets of life and come up with our own thoughts & designs.

Our exhibitions are always exciting and diverse as although we work to a theme, our members interpret the theme in their own way and techniques.

Our group have plans to exhibit our current exhibition ‘Renewal’ in Castle Park Art Centre and Booths Gallery, Lytham, along with some smaller venues during 2019/2020.

This new exhibition is based on regeneration, recycling and renewal. It brings a fresh look to this very current subject, by looking at extremes like the body, flora, fauna, galaxies & so on-

The Open Evening/Meet the artists is being held on 9 August 2019 7 - 9 pm
