- Engage in illegal activity whilst carrying out their role.
We recognise that there may be occasions when problems arise. The purpose of this policy is to ensure that if such problems do arise, they are dealt with fairly and consistently. This policy sets out the measures that may be taken when problems occur.
If the actions of a volunteer fall below accepted levels, then those actions and any consequences of those actions will normally be resolved by informal discussion, in the first instance, with the appropriate manager.
The result of this discussion may include mediation, additional training or support for the volunteer. The discussion will be recorded as an informal note in the appropriate manager’s diary and signed by both parties.
Only where this action fails to bring about the desired improvement, will the Trustees be required to decide upon any further action.
GROSS MISCONDUCT:
When the actions of a volunteer constitute gross misconduct, they will be instructed to leave Castle Park Arts Centre with immediate effect. This is to enable investigations to take place by the appropriate manager, Trustees or outside agencies.
The following list is non-exhaustive and indicates the type of actions that may constitute gross misconduct:
- Theft, fraud, deliberate falsification of company documents
- Violent behaviour, fighting, assault on another person
- Deliberate damage to property
