An introduction to Abstract Painting with Lin Cheung

This  is a workshop for people with some experience in painting and drawing who wish to loosen up or release their creativity by exploring and experimenting with abstract work.

We will look at some key ideas in abstract work, explore mark making and composition and then go on to create abstract paintings using basic mixed media techniques. The structure of the day involves a mixture of guided exercises to help you grasp the principles alongside demonstration and teaching from Lin. A booklet with detailed instructions and handouts for the day is provided for each person.

• Beginners new to abstract painting

• People who would like to learn how to loosen up and become more expressive in their painting

• Anyone who would like to quieten their inner critic.

As an experienced teacher and artist Lin Cheung is able to create a friendly supportive workshop environment so that people feel relaxed and comfortable and ready to learn.  She is interested in supporting people to discover their creativity whether they are new to art or more experienced.
