Artist Bio:
I am a mixed media artist, based in Cheshire. I studied Fine Art at Lancaster University, before teaching Art and Textiles for 25 years in Cheshire and North Yorkshire. I have been selected to work on the LA gifted and talented programme and have been responsible for organising workshops and exhibitions for children and teachers. I have worked as an AIR for disabled children’s charities and currently am supporting Live! at Radiate Arts, Chester.
I create artwork inspired by the lives and memories of people. In 2023 I completed my PhD, which explored lace design education and social change, in Nottingham, after 1943. This involved collecting oral histories from older generations. One outcome inspired by this research, Lace in the Arboretum IV, has been shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2024.
