THE LINK GALLERY

I took up painting two years ago having previously drawn ink sketches.  I am self-taught with some evening class lessons, but most of my learning happens during each painting.  Currently I am combining acrylic and ink to give a stronger colour to my work.  The paintings chosen are a selection of landscapes from the National Park, Cumbria.

Meet the Artits Open Evening is on 26th February 7pm - 9pm free entry and refreshments everyonewelcome.

LIZZIE PATEL, a conceptional artist, presents River Journey No. 2 - The River Dee.  The River Test Journey was a great inspiration in the late 2011 Lizzie began her 2nd river journey, along the River Dee or Afon Dyfrdwy, as they say in Wales! This journey shows the contrasts between the different areas in architecture and street signs in Welsh and English as well as the effects different seasons have on light sources.  The humble postcard used to cummunicate to folks back home new and views of our travels, inspired both River journey's.

The Link Gallery:- I recently graduated from The University of Chester, where I studied Fine Art for three years. It was during this time that I established my passion for capturing rural landscapes through painting. My work revolves around the importance of colour and texture; using various techniques and materials to exaggerate these elements. I continually look to evoke a feeling of abstraction, and portray scenes in a distinct manner to allow the viewer to share my vision.

"Hazel's work brings out the obvious and the not so obvious, subtle characteristics of nature. Her own unique style, developed over a number of years; uses various techniques combining colour, light and texture to capture the atmosphere of time and seasons in a remarkable way.
