About

I am a multidisciplinary mixed media artist with over fifteen years of professional experience, working across landscape, figurative, portraiture, and abstract painting. My practice extends beyond the studio into education and community engagement, where I lead workshops, demonstrations, and collaborative projects for a wide range of participants with extensive experience in exhibition curation. I completed an MA in Contemporary Art with Industry Experience at Salford University in 2021, building on a previous academic background in Software Development, which continues to inform my interdisciplinary approach in art, design and my contributions to the voluntary arts sector.

My artwork is known for its expressive use of colour, texture, and mixed media techniques, combining materials such as oil, encaustic, cold wax, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, ink, and watercolour on paper, canvas, or handmade supports. Guided by the rhythms of nature, the journeys of travel and the pull of conceptual themes, my artistic investigations seek out subjects that awaken emotion, stir memory and embody lived experience.

Thus, the works featured in the Essence exhibition mark a continuing evolution in my practice. This begins with three pieces from an earlier series Landscape Excursions (2023)—Emerald Isles, Up on the Ridge, and Sunset in Rocky Valley—and extends to six new works from my current series Atmospheric Flux (2025). Each piece draws inspiration from local walks as well as travels across Wales, Ireland, Scotland, and other parts of the UK. Many emerge from hazy recollections of landscapes in different seasons, seeking to capture the shifting essence of place through variations in time of day and atmosphere.
