Coming soon - Charged Service with Jenny Catherall and Amy Catherall

Charged Surface from Jenny Catherall (nee` Drinkwater) brings together abstract landscape paintings, a central collage painting, and ceramic vessels. The work explores surface as something active - on both paper and clay, layers are built, scraped or carved back, reworked and allowed to settle. The process is intuitive and responsive, guided by gesture, texture and colour, rather than fixed outcomes.  

Forests, coastlines and tidal zones inform the work, not as fixed views, but as lived and felt environments.  

Jenny is a practising artist with over 15 years experience and has widely exhibited across the North West. This exhibition marks the artist’s first since Covid and reflects a renewed engagement with landscape as a living, vibrant system. 

This exhibition is shown alongside new ceramic work by Amy Catherall, whose practice is inspired by coastal environments.

Amy runs Cheshire Pottery School here at Castle Park Arts Centre and Jenny hosts regular pottery sessions at the School.
