My work in the last 11 years has mainly focused on the use of textiles and stitch and I have exhibited previously in that media.
But around lockdown time I started to pick up my paints again and explore the possibilities of what watercolour, acrylics, ink and collage could offer me creatively.
I’m largely influenced by pattern, form, colour and texture and often look for inspiration in nature and the world around us.
My paintings aren’t necessarily representational - more in the abstract and often formed from the imagination.
I’m a little bit like a magpie collecting shiny new things but instead I collect endless ideas ….full of interpretation, expression and possibility, working with what the paint wants to do on the paper, and literally going with the flow.
My creativity provides me with endless pleasure and is a huge part of my life.
I hope you too can share in a little of that pleasure whilst you enjoy viewing my collection of “random creativity!”
Meet the artist open evening Friday 17 May 2024 7 - 9 pm. Everyone welcome
