Textiles in the Park - Flora

The Centre is not currently open because of the Government lockdown, please check social media for further information.

‘Textiles in the Park’ is a group of Cheshire based, contemporary artists who formed as a group in February 2017. Whilst there are many art groups in the area, there were no groups specifically for textile artists, so Textiles in the Park was formed.

The regular weekly meetings provide inspiration and motivation for members who come from a variety of backgrounds, but have a common love of textiles. Current members are exploring; weaving, hand and machine embroidery, felt making, lino printing, wire work and mixed media textiles.

‘Flora’ is an exhibition of work all inspired by the woodlands and parkland of Marbury & Anderton Country Park. The group normally meets at the Rangers’ Meeting Room at Marbury Park, which is part of the Northwich Woodlands and the Mersey Forest. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions meetings have not been possible, but social media has been used to keep in touch with each other concerning the work being produced.

The members of the group exhibiting work in the Flora exhibition are; Gill Snowball, Sandra Christie, Sheila Hetherington, Sue Marsden, Nicola Billington and Sue Loft.
