About

I am a photographer and darkroom printer, all of my work is hand printed in the darkroom utilizing traditional techniques and materials.

I am inspired by the way in which the fall of light picks out the tones, textures and contrasts inherent within the landscape and the relationship that exists between the land and sky.  I work with film and traditional photographic papers because of the creative and sometimes unpredictable nature of the processes and materials involved; I continue to work on improving and refining my practice as well as increasing understanding of the materials with which I work.  All work is individually printed and from each negative I produce just one final print.

I also explore and experiment with alternative photographic processes producing both cyanotypes and photograms; these processes originated in the mid 1800’s at the very beginnings of photography and are created without the use of a camera.
