Make a simple frame basket with Rachel Evans

This is a willow basket making workshop aimed at beginners or those with some experience.

Inspired by Rachel's sample baskets and pictures you will learn more about frame basket making techniques. To start, you will create a hoop for the rim of the basket using thick willow and join it onto a pre-made hoop handle. You will then weave with different varieties and colours of willow. As your basket grows you will shape the sides by adding willow ribs.

 Rachel Evans is an experienced basket maker and has been teaching for over ten years. She enjoys guiding people through the process of making a practical, functional item, that they can take home and use at the end of the workshop.
