Sarah Morley - An introduction to knife painting

Would you like to try Knife Painting?
It's not kitchen knives but painting knives. Some people think of these as palette knives but actually most of the knives used are designed especially for painting. Using a knife can create bold, clear colour and there are a range of smooth and textured effects. Knives can be used in any form of painting from landscapes and seascapes to totally abstract work.
Come and experience the joy and freedom of this type of painting in Sarah Morley's workshop. You can use knives with heavy body acrylic or oil paint. Sarah will show you different strokes and guide you throughout. You will have chance to practice and then move on to create a unique piece of art by the end of the workshop. This workshop is suitable for beginners or more experienced artists.
Sarah Morley is an artist known for her textured oil paintings frequently painted with the aid of painting knives. She is also an experienced tutor. She held a solo exhibition at Castle Park Arts Centre in May/June 2018 and has held a number of workshops at the art centre. Sarah is a member of the Peak District Artisans and is taking part in their group exhibition at the Arts Centre during February and March 2020.
